Technical Assistant-GCT-CMS/FI Job Family Grouping: Operations Job Family: Underwriting Support How does this role contribute to our collective success? As a Technical Assistant this role will act within established guidelines and support the Underwriting teams; working closely with Underwriting Assistants to provide clerical/office support to assigned business unit(s) and/or department(s). What will you do in this role? • Follows business rules for clearing submissions for GCT/AXIS PRO business unit • Accurate data entry of cleared submissions information in multiple systems • Meets turnaround time and quality standards for clearing submissions • Send declination letters, prior letters, etc. as determined by business rules • Act as a Back-up for the Renewal Solicitation/Direct Notice of Non-renewal process. Follows business rules for preparing monthly spreadsheet for to Offshore Renewal Solicitation/ Direct Notice of Non-renewal team • Meets turnaround time and quality standards for Renewal Solicitation/Direct Notice of Non-renewal process • Work in conjunction with Underwriting Assistant(s) to assist with additional underwriting file duties for specified business unit(s) as needed or requested. • Work in conjunction with Team Lead to assist with additional operations support duties for specified business unit(s) as needed or requested. • Maintain documentation according to established standards and procedures. • Other duties as assigned by the Team Lead You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role. What you need to have: • Proficient verbal and written communication skills • Solid mathematical aptitude Proficient in Microsoft Office products (particularly, Excel and Word) • Good computer, organization, written and verbal communication skills • Good multi-tasking skills; ability to organize work and perform within time constraints • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision • Demonstration of a positive attitude and good verbal, interpersonal and communications skills. • Proficient verbal and written communication skills • Proficient typist What we prefer you to have: • High School diploma; some college preferred, but not required • Insurance background preferred, but not required • Knowledge of underwriting principles and processes • Understands how to access and utilize necessary reference materials • Familiarity with regulatory requirements • Preferred knowledge of policy forms and documentation • 2-3 years prior experience in the commercial insurance industry Role Factors: In this role, you will typically be required to: Be in the office 3 days per week, this is a hybrid role.
