What are the responsibilities and job description for the AVP, Special Assets Manager position at Axos Bank?
- Manage real estate owned including physical security, maintenance, repair, and preparation for sale
- Assist in the development of disposition strategy for troubled assets including analysis of feasibility for alternative uses and preparation of construction and / or repair estimates
- Manage the bidding, requests for proposal and governmental approval process for real estate owned
- Assist in the development and management of the Single-Family Residential Loan Program(in pilot process now)
- Oversee the construction process for real estate owned related repairs and maintenance
- Assists in all aspects of the commercial construction loan disbursement administration
- Prepare, organize and review loan draw packages, ensuring quality, completeness and accuracy and recommend disbursements as appropriate
- Engage construction inspectors and title companies to facilitate submitted draw requests, including inspection requests, title date downs and endorsements
- Review and escalate issues with respect to requested construction draws
- Ensure construction loans are in balance, obtaining necessary /required conditional releases for current submitted draws and unconditional releases for past draws
- Review loan budgets and evaluate draw packages
- Orders third-party cost/construction reviews as appropriate.
- Conduct pre-construction meetings with the general contractors and borrowers as appropriate
- Conduct site visits of real estate owned and pre and post funding site visits of construction projects
- Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by management
- Bachelors Degree
- 4 years experience with underwriting, credit risk, portfolio management, and/or lending
- Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong financial analysis and communication skills
- 3 years experience with GSE loss mitigation
