The Role
AXS is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join our global data engineering team. The ideal candidate enjoys and thrives in working with a variety of data engineering and analytics tools, systems and architectures while working with our product, leadership and marketing teams across three continents to build high quality, scalable batch and real time data pipelines integrated with our products.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement and maintain modern ETL pipelines.
- Support existing processes and frameworks
- Define data models that fulfill business requirements
- Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
- Prepare development estimates and design documents.
- Successfully adopt the best practice and industry standards in data engineering and analytics fields
What to Bring
- Minimum 4 years of data engineering experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Python
- Minimum 4 years of experience in writing SQL
- Excellent communication skills to share findings in an understandable and actionable manner
- Proven ability to work independently in an Agile environment
- Experience working in AWS eco system
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or working with consultants is preferred.
- BS. or M.S. in Computer Science or other related fields is preferred
Nice to Have
- Experience with dimensional modelling and data warehouse design
- Experience working in Airflow
- Experience with Streaming data technologies such as Kinesis and Kafka
- Experience with Serverless technologies, AWS Lambda and DynamoDB
