Staff Accountant
Aypa Power, a Blackstone portfolio company, is a leading developer, owner, and operator of utility-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable projects that power our communities and cities. We have been at the forefront of energy storage development since our first energy storage project came online in 2018. As a leader in our industry, we now have over 15 GW of utility-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable energy projects in development, and 32 projects in operation or construction across North America.
Responsibilities:
- Processing vendor invoices, managing the approval process and initiating settlement payments.
- Processing expense reports.
- Credit card reconciliation and reports.
- Month end AP accruals.
- Assist with month end processing and accounting.
- Assist with account analysis and reporting,
- Preparation of ad hoc reports and analysis.
- Other duties may be assigned by the management team.
Key Qualifications:
- University or college degree/diploma in accounting, management science or similar discipline.
- Professional accounting designation or enrolled in an accreditation program.
- Minimum of three years of progressive accounting experience in project-based operations, construction, or capital asset intensive business.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be highly competent in Microsoft Excel advanced features and capabilities.
- Must be detail oriented, show initiative and be highly organized working in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Hands-on with Sage Intacct or similar ERP system (NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP).
- Multi-entity and multi-currency accounting.
- Exposure to 1099 requirements including completing and remitting to IRS and suppliers.
- Automated banking transactions, including ACH, direct pay and wire payment systems and automated bank reconciliations.
Systems Currently used in the Accounting Environment:
- Microsoft Office including SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint,
- Sage Intacct with multi-entity consolidation and multi-currency,
- Stampli invoice approval workflow, integrated with Intacct,
- Expensify employee expense tracking, approval, integrated with Intacct,
- LeaseQuery for ASC 842 compliance management,
- Monday.com work management platform.
Compensation and Location:
- Job Type: Permanent, Full-time.
- Salary: A base salary commensurate with experience.
- Bonus: An annual bonus will be awarded based on both individual performance as well as the overall success of the business.
