Job Summary
Ayr Wellness is seeking a Staff Accountant who will be primarily responsible for executing day-to-day accounting tasks, including entering journal entries, assisting in the accounts receivable process, and reconciling accounts. The staff accountant will also play an integral role assisting with the month-end close process and will perform additional projects as assigned. Responsibilities for Staff Accountant
Recurring accounting tasks:
- Execute day-to-day accounting tasks
- Monitor bank accounts to ensure all transactions have been properly recorded
- Perform audits & reconciliations operating and dispensary cash accounts
- Assist with accounts receivable management including coordination with wholesale team
- Book journal entries to ensure completeness and accuracy of general ledger
Financial statement preparation:
- Prepare monthly journal entries & requisite support
- Ensure proper accrual of expenses at period-end
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist in preparation of monthly close package, including financial statements
- Execute a variety of other reporting needs including but not limited to royalty calculations, local sales tax calculations, fixed asset accounting and bank compliance reporting
Audit support and preparation:
- Support the Company's year-end and interim audit processes
- Prepare supporting documentation and schedules as requested
- Follow up with audit staff when they have questions
- Assist with preparation and referencing of GAAP documentation
Other business-critical tasks:
- Execute continuous improvement projects as directed by the Accounting Manager and Regional Controller
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting as requested
- Perform additional accounting, financial and other duties as assigned

- BS or BA degree in Finance or Accounting
- Experience with general ledger/ERP systems a plus
- Zero to two years experience in public accounting or bookkeeping; exposure to manufacturing / retail a plus
Physical Requirements
- Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, photocopier/scanner and phone/cell
- Must be able to constantly remain in a stationary position.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with staff, vendors and clients regarding accounting processes/procedures. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
