What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Tennis position at AYTEF?
OVERVIEW:
AYTEF is actively seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join us as a Full-Time Director of Tennis. The Director of Tennis will oversee all facets of our tennis programming and staff, driving expansion and development initiatives. Key responsibilities include tracking and implementing Sports-Based Youth Development principles throughout the Player Pathway, crafting a comprehensive curriculum for Positive Youth Development, and delivering high-quality instruction aimed at inspiring youth to engage and advance in the sport of tennis.
HIGH LEVEL OBJECTIVES:
- ● Implement and cultivate Sports-Based Youth Development principles across every stage of the Player Pathway, ensuring holistic growth and development
- ● Provide engaging and high-quality instruction that ignites enthusiasm among youth, motivating them to actively participate and advance in the sport of tennis.
- ● Collaborate with AYTEF staff to align efforts and achieve our shared mission and goals, while also spearheading initiatives to expand tennis and programming opportunities within the communities we serve.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- ● Create and deliver a cohesive curriculum for Positive Youth Development that harmoniously blends indoor and outdoor activities, nurturing character advancement in participants
- ● Oversee comprehensive player development for all youth levels and ball colors across all programs within the Player Pathway.
- ● Lead and manage a team of direct reports to ensure the achievement of departmental and organizational objectives.
- ● Forge strong relationships with AYTEF families and foster community bonds with the communities AYTEF serves
- ● Lead all on-court activities for AYTEF branded events including Block Parties, Sponsor Collaborations, Community Outreach Events, Summer Camp, and Tennis in Schools.
- ● Incorporate enrichment and acceleration activities as needed, such as match play, small group sessions, training camps, tournaments, and team competitions.
- ● Manage GameSetMatch program software and oversee all administrative duties.
- ● Promote the tennis program and other AYTEF offerings through positive relationships
- with community members, schools, and recreation centers.
- ● Assess community needs and desires through consistent communication with families and
- youth to enhance AYTEF programs.
- ● Work closely with all staff across various program areas to ensure seamless collaboration
- and the successful implementation of all programming at Fair Oaks Tennis Center
- ● Collaborate with youth-serving organizations and local tennis programs to provide growth,
- development, exposure, and fellowship opportunities for AYTEF youth.
CREDENTIALS/REQUIRED EDUCATION:
● Possess and maintain tennis certification from PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) and/or USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association)
