Research Scientist-Device Nanofabrication

Position Summary

Azimuth is seeking a qualified research scientist to join our team working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. The Research Scientist responsibilities will be focused on the development of nanofabricated devices and structures for agile high frequency electronics. Experience in lithography and device fabrication is required. Experience in photo-lithography, electron beam lithography, thin film deposition and lift-off, and patterning by etching is desired. Experience in magnetic materials, thin film growth, optics, or microwave electronics is also highly valued. Exceptional teamwork and communication skills are required for this position.

Basic Qualifications

• PhD with experience in device fabrication, photo or e-beam lithography, thin film deposition, and etching
• Experience in a laboratory/research environment is required
• This position is working within a government facility and requires U.S. Citizenship
• Secret Clearance Required: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and will need to meet eligibility requirements for access to a classified environment and information

Desired Qualifications

• Proficiency in advanced data analysis and visualization
• Excellent written and oral communication skills as demonstrated by public presentations and peer-reviewed publications
• Ability to research, devise, and learn new techniques and technical topics
• Ability to work independently and in a group setting
• Ability to use Google Workspace (Google Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) as well as Microsoft Office and Teams
• Physical Requirements / Travel
• May travel ~10% to conferences, program reviews, industry meetings, or other collaborative events. Most or all travel would be CONUS (Continental United States).
• Must be able to work in an office environment at a desk and computer using a keyboard and mouse; potential for remote work/work-from-home
• Must be able to work in a lab environment
• Must be able to lift or carry up to 25 pounds
