What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Azura Memory Care?
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, the Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance of the fixed equipment, grounds and structural integrity of Azura Memory Care facilities. The Facilities Maintenance Technician identifies all repairs and/or maintenance work items which are to be performed and coordinates necessary schedules for completion of work.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Facilities Management
- Performs general maintenance, repairs, tracking of inventory of office furniture/equipment
- Verifies that work orders are correct by verifying the work that needs to be done or by contacting the person that initiated the work order.
- Responds to and performs maintenance and repair work in a timely and efficient manner.
- Examines, performs, maintains and/or initiates repair(s) to the interior and exterior building structure and grounds
- Participates in departmental on-call program as designated.
- Responds to emergency situations to ensure team member, resident, and facility safety.
- Provide Director with annual budgetary information as required.
- Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret architectural drawings related to structural, mechanical or electrical modifications.
- Installs adaptive equipment and safety modifications in Azura Memory Care homes as needed.
- Maintains supply records and notifies appropriate parties when inventory is low and needs to be replenished.
- Removes snow from parking lots, sidewalks and building entrances and ensures that walkways/pathways are safe for team members/residents/visitors to walk on.
- Oversees vendors and contractors to determine that work is correctly performed and completed in a timely manner, that the correct materials are utilized, and to ensure that procedures meet state requirements by reviewing plans and specialized drawings.
- Obtains estimates and quotes of materials and equipment needed for repairs and the completion of job tasks.
- Purchases materials through vendors and maintains documentation to ensure that items are received with appropriate guidelines.
- Assists with landscaping duties as needed.
- Operates, maintains, repairs and performs appropriate record keeping of all HVAC, plumbing equipment electrical and electronic equipment and systems.
- Performs data entry and upkeep of the preventative maintenance tools and ensures that data entry is performed on a regular basis and in a timely manner in reference to maintenance performed.
- Problem solves vendor and work order problems and results in collaboration with the Director of Facilities on a regular basis.
