Summary
This is an entry level position that requires a highly precise worker, who remains skeptical while respecting authority. Work is set in a professional environment, where you have to bring accountability. The primary role of the BIM Detailer is to utilize 3D modeling software platforms such as: BIM Track, Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Recap, to accurately create, develop, and document 3D models in a fast-paced work environment. 3D modeling typically consists of electrical raceways, fittings, supports, data/power, and fire alarm devices extracted from 2D drawings or verbal directive from other BIM personnel or Field Leadership. The BIM Detailer will work with other trades to detect clashes in proposed routing prior to installation utilizing 3D modeling software. The responsibility of this position is managing specialized work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The position requires above average attention to details, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time.
Responsibilities
· Utilizing 3D modeling software to accurately create and develop 3D content
· Ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of accurate drafting methods, utilizing the NCS as framework
· Ability to demonstrate using basic Revit MEP tools such as the Project Browser, Properties, Type Selector and inserting and use of various family types
· A basic understanding of the family editor with the ability to create simple families and manipulate their parameters
· Capable of in creating as-built geometry using a variety of BIM programs to merge different trade files and perform collision control services
· Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and Autodesk Platforms a must
· Willingness to learn, have strong organizational and analytical skills
· Self-motivated; take pride in work and accept responsibility for his/her professionalism
· Excellent collaborative and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively
· Capable of building trusting relationships, ability and willingness to work independently or in a team atmosphere
· Physical demands include long hours sitting, using a computer, standing, pulling/pushing, walking, lifting, and climbing
· Job requires intermediate computer proficiency and advanced critical thinking skills
· Other duties, activities and responsibilities may vary and change as assigned
Education and Experience
· Minimum 6 months AutoCAD and REVIT experience with training/experience in current AutoCAD software
· Bachelor's or college degree in CAD or drafting studies is preferred
· Relevant work experience may substitute for the degree
