Zoning Supervisor

B & F Construction Code Services, Inc. is looking for a Zoning Supervisor. You will be based out of our office in Elgin, IL. We will provide uniforms, PPE, a work phone and a company vehicle for you to drive should you need to travel for business. Zoning Supervisor Job Responsibilities:

• All zoning questions and/or research for towns.
• Meet with owners, contractors, developers etc. to discuss compliance with the towns zoning code.
• Prepare staff reports for all planning and zoning petitions.
• Attend Planning and Zoning Commission Meetings.
• Prepare handouts for municipal clients related to zoning.
• Create & Develop Zoning Summaries for in-house use.
• Complete responses to RFP’s and create proposals for municipal clients.
• Prepare fee sheets for plan review projects.
• Complete Miscellaneous Plan Reviews for Zoning.
• Work with municipal clients (Campton Hills, Popular Grove, Deer Park, and others as assigned).
• Supervisory duties.
• Teaching (Building Department Basics Class, Zoning class, and others as applicable).
• Author Web Articles.
• Assist in Marketing of Planning/ Zoning services.
• Prepare and/or recommend policies and procedures.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

While conducting plan reviews an individual must be able to the meet the following minimum physical requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Zoning review and enforcement, of which 5 years are in inspection and plan review or equivalent industry experience.
• Working knowledge of Municipal Zoning Administration, plan review and inspection office procedures.
• Ability to apply company and municipal policies to plans and reports.
• Ability to work with clients and design professionals to process plans and reports.
• Ability to work in fast-paced office environment.
• Excellent customer service, communication, multi-tasking and organizational skills. Proficient in MS Office.

Technical Requirements:

• ICC Certified Zoning Inspector or equivalent experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
