Job Summary:

B T Group is currently seeking a Project Civil Engineer in the Tempe, AZ office. This person is responsible for developing conceptual designs, calculations, reports, and final engineering design and construction documents. This position is located in the B T Group Tempe, Arizona office.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

• Information Assessment – Research and review project requirements and design information to determine if it is sufficient to complete the design while ensuring that the design concept can be met.
• Production Coordination – Coordinate with other Project Managers and Engineers to establish essential functions and deadlines necessary to finish specific projects.
• Setup – Determine appropriate methods to create drawings using either a CAD template customized to the client’s requirements, a standard template designed for specific type of work, or by updating an existing CAD file.
• Drafting – complete the drawing process in CAD using the information contained in the documents and in line with the scope of work; make necessary corrections to existing drawings following quality review process.
• Quality Control – Review drawings from other drafters to ensure alignment with scoping and corporate drafting standards.
• Drawing Presentation – Present completed drawings to appropriate personnel for review, adjustments and/or delivery.
• Drafting Support – Provide technical and procedural support to Cad Technicians and Designers.
• Decision Making – Make design-related recommendations once appropriate information is gathered from other departments, program managers and/or engineers.
• Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned.
  
  

Requirements:

Knowledge/Skill/Ability

• Technical Knowledge – Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and drafting techniques or ability to become proficient quickly
• Analytical Skills – Ability to analyze information to ascertain relevance and to visualize in 3D
• Communication Skills - Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly express questions, explanations, and suggestions
• Computer Skills - Proficiency in the use of personal computers, including internet, email, PDF, and image software
  
  

Equivalent Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam preferred
• 3 Years of relevant work experience in a drafting and/or design role preferred
• Experience in the Wireless Infrastructure Industry preferred
