Job Overview:
Splicer
Duties:
- Perform splicing and termination of fiber optic cables in both indoor and outdoor settings
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain network infrastructure equipment
- Work with high voltage and low voltage systems to ensure proper connectivity
- Repair and replace damaged or faulty equipment
- Conduct testing and documentation of fiber optic cables and network connections
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget
- Operate forklift to move equipment and materials as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience in fiber optic splicing and termination
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure and network systems
- Familiarity with high voltage and low voltage systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficient in using splicing equipment, fusion splicers, and OTDRs
- Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve connectivity issues
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members
