Summary
The Secondary Mortgage Loan Closer assembles, inspects, and prepares all critical documentation needed to complete the mortgage loan closing process. The Secondary Mortgage Loan Closer works with Loan Officers and Processors to evaluate and verify that all terms and closing conditions for the mortgage loan have been satisfied and then initiates the transfer of funds to complete the transaction. The Secondary Mortgage Loan Closer's responsibilities include preparing loan closing packages, communicating with all parties involved in the transaction, and ensuring that all paperwork is complete, accurate, and in compliance with legal regulations. A successful Loan Closer should be detail-oriented, have a great sense of organization, and be able to maintain accurate closing schedules.
Specific Job Duties

- Prepares, generates, and reviews loan closing packages and paperwork on Mortgage software, including Mortgage Bot and Doc Magic.
- Ensures the accuracy and completeness of all required documents in a timely manner
- Collaborate with Loan Processor and Loan Officer from origination to close to ensure loan closing process is completed.
- Confirms loan compliance with all state and federal regulations and policies, as well as investor/mortgage lending product and program guidelines
- Reviews all closing conditions are satisfied and executed according to closing instructions
- Assists with fund transfers for closing when needed by preparing and executing the transfer of lender funds for disbursement.
- Assists in department tracking when needed and maintains loan closing calendar on an as needed basis.
- Acts as an intermediary between all parties involved in mortgage loan transactions.

Post-Closing:
- Assists Investors, Title, and Secondary Mortgage staff if a condition is needed for sale.
- Resolves any post-closing issues immediately
- Receives closing packages from Title Companies and scans/categorizes into document storage.
- Packages and ships recorded documentation to investors.
- Coordinates mortgage closing proceedings.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma/GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Completion of a loan closing certificate program preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in mortgage processing, closing, or lending experience.
- Mortgage Bot and TRID experience preferred.
- Knowledge of mortgage industry regulations from origination to post-closing; as well as an understanding of loan products such as Conventional, FHA, USDA, and VA are desired
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential
- Strong analysis, time management, and organization skills are desired
- Must have MS Office experience, lending or title software, NMLS experience is a plus.
