What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Inspector position at B360™?
Qualifications.
- Have a minimum of 5 years experience in construction inspection and management of building construction, site work/earthwork, and road work projects valued at $3,000,000 or more.
- Have training and experience to perform all inspections with proficiency independently.
- Have access to and familiarity with USFWS directives for construction and contracting.
- Possess good communications skills both orally and in writing and know applicable OSHA standards, and State and Federal statutes. Provide certificates of training.
- Be familiar with and proficient in using computer-based data systems including GPS and GIS, fax machines, scanners, copiers, printing devices, email, word-processors, and other business machine systems.
Requirements/Job description
- Coordination with the contractor’s onsite superintendent
- Overseeing quality control inspections and tests performed by the Contractor
- Review of As-Built drawings created to ensure they reflect work as conducted;
- Documentation of daily construction activities
- Monitoring safety plan and construction schedule;
- Monitor Contractor’s safety meetings
- Monitor compliance with environmental plans or permits;
- Perform spot check/labor interviews with Contractor’s personnel to assist in compliance with Department of Labor-related requirements of their contract.
- Attend the construction meetings with Contractors, CO, and/or Contracting Officer
- Representative (COR).
- Participate in progress meetings/teleconferences between contractor and FWS personnel
- (CO and COR).
- Keep job Diaries/Notes to supplement the daily reports required and make timely entries in the job diary for each day an inspection occurs.
- Make timely photographic documentation of the progress of construction activities, materials used in construction, contractor’s construction equipment, and quality control activities
- documented on the inspection reports.
- Communicate as needed with the CO, COR, Refuge Manager and Regional Infrastructure Management Branch Chief to assure technical and other contractual requirements are met.
- Provide any quality assurance on behalf of the FWS in accordance with the Construction Inspection Plan
