Backyard Sports Associate Program Director

Backyard Sports is seeking a highly motivated Associated Program Director who is comfortable as a lead teacher/instructor as well as scheduling, implementing and supervising programs. A successful Associate Program Director must communicate effectively with coaches, Directors and program partners on a daily basis. Experience teaching/coaching and managing staff is also a must. This candidate must display an ability to take initiate and problem solve if and when challenges arise regarding programs. The Associate Program Director will be responsible for 30-35 hours per week Monday-Friday, with limited hours (5-10 hours per week) on the weekends. This position will be a hybrid schedule of remote, office (White Plains) and Westchester field (program) placements. Flexibility of schedule is a must as program schedules change seasonally. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Docs/Sheets is a plus. The Associate Program Director will report directly to Backyard Sports Senior Program Directors, COO and President. Pay range starts at $40,000-80,000 per year commensurate with experience. Bonus pay is earned but not guaranteed as a reflection of job performance.

Job responsibilities include:

• Updating Program Master Schedule (Excel)
• Staffing programs (including finding coverage when coaches call out)
• Coordinating equipment for all program sites
• Supervisory program site visits (including developing relationships with our community program partners and site leaders)
• Lead teaching/coaching for programs as needed
• Communicating daily with updates for Senior Program Directors
• On site at full and/or half-day camps during the summer time

Qualifications include:

• 5 years minimum experience as a Lead Teacher or Coach
• 5 years minimum experience leading/managing staff
• Bachelors in Education, Management or related field is a must
• Masters in Education, Management or related field is a plus
• Superior communication skills are a must
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Docs/Sheets is a plus
• 3 references from a direct work relationship from the past two years

Pay: $40,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
