Job Description
The Chemical Handler V role performs a variety of tasks in controlling and monitoring of chemicals and/or hazardous waste within the company facility or manufacturing production organization in accordance with federal, state and local regulations such as EPA Clean Water Act and DOT Toxic Substances Control Act. Monitors chemicals, related equipment, and waste system indicators: makes chemical and equipment adjustments to ensure proper system functioning and chemical solution balance: removes and disposes of waste chemicals, solvents, and acids: inspects hazardous waste production and storage units: and maintains operational logs. Cleans up chemical spills. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Must have a good understanding of chemicals (acids, bases, oxidizers, flammables, reducers, water-reactive) in a variety of forms (liquids, solids, gases, sludges, slurries) and related incompatibilities to prevent undesirable chemical reactions. Work is performed in occasional hazardous working conditions and requires the use of specialized safety equipment and apparatuses.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Requires a High School or Trade School diploma or its equivalent and at least two (4) years of general maintenance experience. Must have the ability to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl and reach for extended periods of time. May be required to lift 35 pounds. Must be comfortable with and capable of occasionally working at heights. Requires indoor as well as outdoor work in varying temperatures and weather. Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $70180 - $112310
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
