Job Description The position of Procurement Analyst I will be responsible for supporting the procurement strategy for critical BAE Systems, Combat Vehicles commodities. This position will hold commodity responsibility in support of bid and proposal efforts, execution of project team material strategies, and direct material procurement.
Key deliverables of the Procurement Analyst I role are: identifying and delivering cost reduction ideas, tactical procurement support, Long Term Supply Agreements (LTSA) support with technology partners to obtain industry leading solutions, fostering effective communication with the BAE Systems Supply Base and internal partners, supplier capacity and capability analysis, leading cost savings initiatives, driving the supply base to premiere levels of performance, utilization of market and industry analysis, and an understanding of key aerospace and defense commodity applications to identify and develop eligible suppliers, including a global supply base when commercially applicable.
Typical Education & Experience B.S. in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
Required Skills and Education
- B.S. in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
- Must exhibit high level of motivation, team work collaboration, organization, attention to detail, energetic approach to job duties and requirements.
- Must be technically knowledgeable and capable of grasping detailed concepts.
- Must be a self-starter and have excellent leadership skills.
- Must be able to communicate both verbally and through effective writing.
- Must be able to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, etc.
- Strong MS Office skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
Preferred Skills and Education
- Understanding of DOD and/or aerospace procurement, ITAR, FAR, DFAR, TINA and other government regulations
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
