WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH & WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

Bain & Company is seeking to recruit a Specialist Consultant to help the ongoing growth of the Organization Practice. The Organization Practice toolkit extends across many dimensions from structure to team design, leadership, management system, culture and behaviors. Organization design is often a cornerstone of Bain’s engagement with clients who want to improve their company performance and become a sought after place to work. Bain brings cutting edge tools, compelling cross-industry perspectives, and a collaborative approach to this work. The initial primary focus area of the Specialist Consultant will be in accelerating the insights and progress made in the early stages of an Operating Model engagement by bringing expertise into the org point of departure assessment and future state design deliverables. This is a client-facing role that involves dynamically partnering across clients, Bain account teams, and Bain capability centers to deliver value and evolve Bain’s IP and approach over time.

The Specialist Consultant ideally comes from a consulting organization with a focus on organization design, or has significant organizational design experience in a generalist consulting group. In addition, this individual should have a track record of success in identifying issues, creating hypotheses, executing and communicating analysis, and managing others in a way that has moved the client to action. Individuals with industry experience in organizational design and people analytics will also be considered, provided they show the ability to develop the consultant skillset.

The Specialist Consultant will need to interface with the consulting team manager, the Org Analytics Center of Excellence (currently based out of India) as well as Bain partners / Expert VPs to both deliver in client engagements, and capture IP for ongoing process improvement. The Specialist Consultant should expect to be deployed across ~1-3 different client engagements at a time, with ongoing support from the Org Analytics Center of Excellence. All of these situations would leverage key software tools and methodologies specifically developed for Operating Model engagements. The role would also provide the opportunity to work with Practice / Product leaders to design and evolve the optimal approach for engagement delivery, refining the collaboration model between offshore resources, Bain account teams, and our Organization practice.

  • Maintain/codify critical org diagnostic and design IP and data assets/artifacts
  • Support ongoing efforts to improve and scale off-shore Org capabilities
  • Maintain latest version of op model approach, and "Aster delivery model" intro materials
  • Participate in knowledge codification of relevant client experiences
  • Work with Customer Success consultants and Organization Practice to develop and refine training manuals, user guides, and other training materials (e.g., videos)
  • Team engagement
  • Work effectively with case team collaborating on insights and potential solutions to org design issues, co-creating with clients and other Bain Centers of Excellence
