Position Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (The following statements describe the general nature of work being performed in this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management):
Supervises productivity of assigned warehouse functions. Designs and develops processes to ensure quality and quantity standards are achieved. Maintains necessary stock levels of supplies and materials. Ensures new hires are trained. Works through lead clerks to communicate policies and procedures. Maintains necessary records to track productivity, volume, and quality. Informs management of changes necessary to ensure objectives are met.
Non-Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 30 to 40 employees in warehouse departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or equivalent; or 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- PC skills.
- Interpersonal and organization skills.
- Inventory management knowledge.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and lift/move up to 10 lbs.; frequently required to stand; sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; lift/move up to 25 lbs.; and occasionally required to climb or balance and lift/move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.
