POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is based out of Verona, MO and we do not offer relocation at this time.
Assist Site Director and other key members of the plant with implementation of projects. This role will attend daily walk throughs of the plant, cataloging parts, and assisting with other engineering needs as necessary. Larger portion of the role will consist of process optimization, tracking data, building systems, and presenting findings. Generally, this will be to support the global roll-out of Balchems Continuous Improvement processes. Other reliability improvement and project engineering tasks will be assigned as bandwidth allows.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The intern may assist with any of the following projects this list may not be all inclusive:
- Follows all safety policies and procedures including use of safety equipment (PPE) and equipment safeguards
- Assist Production with DDS Meeting and follow up actions
- Document current standards for processes and update in accordance with improvement actions.
- Perform data analysis on Process metrics and create KPIs or dashboards to display
- Conduct root-cause failure analyses and/or failure mode and effects analyses (FMEA) as needed
- Conduct time and motion studies as required
- Track return on improvements
- Support production in understanding elements of Operational Excellence
- Analyze Quality and Production data as needed and generate reports, control charts, and other communications
- Learn process improvement techniques associated with Lean and Six Sigma
- Develop understanding of process parameters integral to manufacturing
- Develop people skills necessary to facilitate change management
- Produce results that will directly benefit the bottom line of the Verona facility
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited Engineering curriculum with passing grades in all core subjects and have completed at least the freshmen year
