The Procurement Analyst will apply data analytic skills to interrogate data from multiple sources
including supplier invoice data, performance metrics, commodity information and budget and forecasting
data to allow the business to make good procurement decisions. Utilizing their IT skills to analyze these data streams, the Procurement Analyst will look for trends and pinpoint opportunities to improve performance and add value through volume incentives, unit cost
reductions, cost avoidance targeting and other category/supplier opportunities.
They will establish a performance dashboard supporting the creation and publication of KPI s related to
the function and procurement categories and manage and improve the process of collecting and
evaluating supplier spend data and associated volume incentive programs and work towards automating
and streamlining processes. The Procurement Analyst will support the business by collecting relevant market data and commodity
pricing to support the formation of category strategies to ensure the business is achieving the best value
and mitigating risk within the supply chain. The successful candidate will also be expected to manage some steady state procurement categories as well as supporting the team with other end-to-end sourcing. Key category areas include (but not limited to) Construction trade categories, Professional Services, Travel, Facilities Management, Technology & Communications, Logistics & Shipping, General
Administration, Marketing & Print.

INTERFACES

Internal: Other members of the Strategic Procurement function as well as stakeholders across Balfour Beatty US businesses.
External: A range of third-party suppliers across all procurement categories.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze, consolidate and rationalize historical supplier spend data within each category.
Interrogation of our internal business invoicing systems (JD Edwards/Yardi).
Provide support in preparing category-level forecasts/benefits and financial performance reports.
Develop, implement, communicate and monitor performance metrics for the procurement function
strategic suppliers and managed categories.
Develop, implement, communicate and monitor a comprehensive preferred supplier network across
categories feeding into an overall category plan
Support procurement team activities, including RFPs, RFIs, direct negotiations, etc.

PERSONAL QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE
The following qualities/experience are required:
Experience and aptitude for data analytics tools and methodologies.
Proficient in analyzing/processing raw datasets, with expertise in Microsoft excel (Power pivot
tables, v-lookups, advanced formulas, etc.). Experience with business analytics and visualization tools
(i.e., DOMO, Power BI a plus).
Able to prepare detailed, error-free analyses and present findings in a clear, concise manner.
Good listening skills and able to focus on critical issues.
Sharp, critical thinker, with persistent personality.
Highly customer focused and determined to exceed customer expectations.
Independent worker with high degree professionalism and integrity.
The following qualities/experience are desired but not required:
2 years experience working in a procurement related position.
Knowledge in purchasing methods and techniques.
Knowledge of contracts and contract negotiation.
Experience in working within the construction industry would be an advantage.
