Provide analytical support to the Compliance & Internal Controls department in maintaining a comprehensive compliance program framework covering all regulated activities.
Conduct regulatory research, disseminate regulatory information, and provide opinions and advice on regulatory matters
Examine Bank policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with laws and regulations and implement any needed changes
Further develop and conduct testing of policies and procedures
Assisting the first line with the identification of key risks and mitigating controls in their business units, as well as action plans to address any gaps in the mitigating measures identified.
When necessary, prepare and submit reports and filings, respond to requests, submissions, and audits by authorities.
Collaborate with external advisors to ensure strict compliance with laws and regulations applicable to the group.
Anticipate and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current compliance related laws and other relevant areas to provide strategic advice and promote compliance.
Assist in the gathering of documentation and information requested by internal, external, and regulatory auditors. Collaborate during audit examinations in the gathering of documentation and information, and provide reports requested by local, regional, or head office auditors and regulatory authorities.
Prepare presentations and reports for executive meetings.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years’ experience of bank and/or broker dealer experience
Knowledge of Caribbean Regulations desirable
Knowledge BSA / AML, Federal and State Banking Regulations
Ability to develop, document and maintain policies and procedures, including the designing and documenting detailed process flows, and the development of operational performance and quality metric standards and reports
Fluency in English
Fluency in Portuguese and/or Spanish desirable
Agile methodology, project management, and programming skills such as python, C# a plus
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically, Excel, Access, Power Point and Word
