Position: Credit Analyst
Physical Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Reports To: Credit Manager
Working Conditions: Normal, no adverse or hazardous conditions
Job Group Category: Exempt
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00
Primary Purpose: Summary of major reasons this job exists.
We are seeking an analytical individual, able to work under direct supervision, to assist credit department with reviewing applications and credit limit requests for consumer and commercial credit loans in accordance with established loan lending policies and procedures. Must be willing to relocate.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Majority of duties performed, but not meant to be all inclusive or to prevent other duties from being assigned.
- Analyzes credit information pertaining to new and existing loans
- Investigates all available sources of credit and financial information
- Prepares credit analyses to determine customers credit worthiness and ability to repay debt
- Maintains high levels of service to loan administration and loan officers
- Ensure attention to detail in the preparation of all work
- Assists in the training of other employees in the department
Job Specifications: Knowledge, skills, abilities normally required for competent performance in the job.
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field with minimum of 6 credit hours of accounting
- Requires two (2) year of experience as a credit analyst in a financial institution
- Performs work under direct supervision
- Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff
- Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter
- Must be a self-starter and excel in time management
- Detail oriented
- Analytical thinking skills

- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledgeable of laws and regulations applicable to lending practices desired
