Job Title: Head Teller

Physical Location: Prairieville Branch - 13423 Highway 73, Prairieville, LA 70769

Reports To: Branch Manager

Working Conditions: Normal, no adverse or hazardous conditions

Job Group Category: Non-Exempt

Work Hours: Hours may vary by location

Primary Purpose:

Oversees teller activities, maintains records of vault, ATM, cash balances, and oversees currency accounts. Assist customers with account questions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Majority of duties performed, but not meant to be all inclusive or to prevent other duties from being assigned.

• Supervise tellers.
• Perform normal teller duties on a daily basis.
• Provide on-the-job training for tellers on an as needed basis. Monitors tellers to ensure compliance with BancorpSouth’s policies and procedures.
• Assist tellers with locating cash discrepancies, manages unusual window transactions, and answers difficult customer questions.
• Performs a variety of customer service transactions, such as account holds, stop payment orders, direct deposit and check confirmation.
• Verify money received or sent for deposit in BancorpSouth’s vault at designated times and record on BancorpSouth’s forms.
• Balances the vault on a daily basis and maintain cash limits set by BancorpSouth policy.
• Receives checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifies amounts, examines checks for proper endorsement and enters deposits into computer system.
• Ensures that the teller stations are properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.
• Reports malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment used at the teller stations.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Job Specifications: Knowledge, skills, and abilities normally required for competent performance in the job.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years of job related experience.
• Close attention to detail and good organizational and analytical skills.
• Good interpersonal and supervisory skills as well as good standard office equipment skills.
• Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
• One year teller experience preferred.
