Analyst/Associate - Municipal Products Derivative Origination

Bank of America’s Municipal Banking and Markets group is headquartered in New York with multiple additional regional offices.  Our Public Finance business has been ranked top 1 or 2 in the industry for 30 years. The Municipal Products Derivative Origination team provides strategic financings and derivative solutions to our municipal and not-for-profit clients.

Overview:

As a team member, analysts assist bankers in structuring and pricing transactions. Analysts are called on to:

• Develop and maintain financial and trading models and conduct derivative structuring and pricing
• Conduct credit and valuation analyses
• Perform comprehensive and in-depth derivative document review and negotiation
• Prepare presentation and other materials for clients
• Interact with bankers, credit/risk, operation and trading professionals
• Communicate and interact with deal team members and client

Candidates must demonstrate a combination of academic aptitude, quantitative skills, strategic and creative thinking and distinguished written and oral communications skills. Analysts are required to manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of a team. Some common driving characteristics we look for assertiveness, attention to detail, exceptional academic achievement, initiative, team focus, self-confidence, strategic and creative thinking capabilities, strong work ethic, and strong communication skills. Strong quantitative skills and computer skills are a must.

Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s Degree with superior record of academic achievement
• Relevant experience within Global Markets, Public Finance experience is a plus but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Solid quantitative and analytical skills
• The ability to work independently and function as part of a team
• The ability to think strategically
• Able to clearly communicate complex business concepts both verbally and in written form.
