Bank of America's Healthcare, Education and Not-for-Profit Group (HENFP) is seeking a Commercial Credit Officer (CCO) to join our team;
this position may be placed in Chicago, Cleveland or Auburn Hills, MI. The Healthcare, Education & Not-for-Profit group is part of the Global Commercial Bank and supports the financial needs of a variety of 501(c) not for profit clients including healthcare (hospitals, health systems, senior living and insurance providers), education (private universities, colleges and K-12 schools) and traditional not-for-profit organizations (cultural, professional, and social service organizations).
The Commercial Credit Officer (CCO) is a highly skilled client team member or associate, providing expert level advisory guidance in the most complex, integrated debt capital solutions for commercial banking clients.
Products principally include lines of credit, term loans and direct purchases (taxable and tax exempt) and real estate loans, designed to meet company objectives, executed bilaterally as well as in syndicated markets.
The CCO is an integral member of the Client Team and is responsible for delivering the end-to-end credit experience to clients and prospects, including management of all ancillary credit exposure to clients.
The CO maintains knowledge of other Bank of America products including treasury management, hedging and other ancillary solutions that have credit exposure, and leverages product expertise to deliver the best possible and optimally integrated strategic solution for the client or prospect.
This role reports to the Commercial Credit Manager and will be aligned to an Underwriting Team that supports the market.
Responsibilities :
- Manages a portfolio of HENFP clients and prospects with annual revenues of $50 MM - $2 billion .
- Acquires, deepens, and maintains profitable relationships through credit sales, prospecting and relationship building.
- Manages the end-to-end credit process for a portfolio of clients.
- Provides capital structure solutions.
- Negotiates and executes credit documentation.
- Leads the credit and risk approval processes.
- Mentors and supports junior credit associates’ learning and development through coaching.

Required Qualifications :
- 10 years of solid Commercial Banking experience.
- Experience in financial analysis, structuring, underwriting and portfolio management.
- Analytical / technical skills, including financial accounting, modeling, and loan structuring.
- Strong critical thinking skills; detail oriented with ability to problem solve.
- Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Power Point and Excel
- Industry knowledge across healthcare, education and non-profit sectors preferred.
Minimum Education Requirement : BA / BS Degree Preferred
