Job Description:
SUMMARY: This role is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the role include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. This role ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Additional responsibilities may include:
Participating and guiding team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle.
Performing spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
Coding solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
Utilizing multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements.
Assisting team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work.
Designing/developing/modifying architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained.
Designing/developing/maintaining automated test suites (integration, regression, performance).
Setting up and developing a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline.
Automating manual release activities.
Mentoring other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack.
ABOUT: Bank of America’s Retail, Preferred, Small Business and Wealth Management Technology (RPSWT) organization sits within the greater Global Technology (GT) organization. Part of that organization, the Mobile and Associate Facing Channels Technology Team (MAFCT), provides end to end technology strategy, engineering and support services supporting our Mobile, Voice Enabled Technology (includes Erica and contact center), Financial Center, and ATM channels. This group supports over 50MM digital customers with daily logins of 35-40MM for our mobile and Erica platforms. The contact center channel supports about 1MM calls per day and enables capabilities for over 30K internal associates. Our ATM fleet of over 16K ATMs enables 720MM transactions annually and our 4300 Financial Centers take in over 184MM deposits each year. Our mission is to provide seamless cross channel experience and allow customers to interact with us in the channel of choice and enabling more and more capabilities via self-service mobile, Erica, IVR and Chat.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ Experience:
Experience in Core Java, developing J2EE Applications involving JSP and Servlets
Experience with IDE like Eclipse or NetBeans or IntelliJ
App Server experience in deploying J2EE applications using WebSphere or Tomcat or Apache.
5 years of experience building Restful web services using WCF and WebAPI.
3-4 years of Experience with Handlebar/ AngularJS/ React, JavaScript, jQuery, AND client-side technologies..
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Strong front-end and full stack development experience at the enterprise level.
Experience in designing and developing prototypes and creating proofs of concepts (POCs) for evaluating new technologies, approaches to be implemented in the platform.
Must understand the structure and logic of Object-Oriented programming.
Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns.
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
DESIRED SKILLS/ Experience
Working knowledge and experience of Microsoft.Net Framework 4.0 or higher (.NET Core, ASP.NET and C#).
Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) using MS-Visio or any other software design drawing tools.
Strong experience in designing frameworks for enterprise level applications.
Experience in the banking and/or finance industry is a plus.
