You'll lead a team of credit analysts in underwriting commercial loan requests and ensure that the underwriting is accurate, timely, and identifies the risks within transactions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties/Responsibilities
- Leads staff of credit analysts and communicates around objectives and goals, department operating status and employee input to improve department performance.
- Complete underwriting on complex loan transactions.
- Collaborate with lending team to identify gaps in understanding financial performance and assist in developing questions directed toward borrower/prospect to enhance understanding.
- Must have detailed knowledge of the Bank’s Loan Policy and advises if loan request does not conform.
- Maintain up-to-date, well-organized documentation and files.
- Identify current or potential problems regarding the assessment of credit risk.
- Participate in loan committee meetings and, at times, record the minutes of the meeting.
- At times, assist with special loan programs (e.g. SBA Payroll Protection Program “PPP”) and other forms of indirect credit risk (e.g. ACH and Remote Deposit Capture) as necessary.
- Assists Senior Credit Officer in providing regular reporting to Executive Management and the Board of Directors regarding the loan portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Four-year college degree; at least 5 years of broad banking experience, specifically with regard to commercial lending and credit administration
