Overview
We are currently seeking a “Credit and Counterparty Risk Manager” to support our “Warehouse Lending Group”. As the “Credit and Counter Party Risk Manager”, you will be responsible for management of the Warehouse Credit Team.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Perform training and support to direct reports including Credit Officer I, II and III roles within the department.
- Perform direct reports annual review and recommends merit and/or promotional increases.
- Review and update policies as needed to ensure they are up to date and adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Ensure warehouse loan terms comply to banks approved lending limits and guidelines.
- Identify credit risks and recommend appropriate mitigants to meet banks risk appetitive.
- Prepare credit recommendation for management team related to warehouse lines of credit.
- Review client performance to ensure they remain in good standing and comply with terms and conditions set forth in warehouse line MRA and VTL.
- Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in the real estate finance market. Report emerging risks related to warehouse lending to management team.
- Present Commercial Credit Report (CCR) to loan committees for the purpose of obtaining credit approval.
- Ensure targets and departmental deadlines are on track and are being met.
- Ensure departmental Service Level Agreements (SLA) are being met.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist sales with prospect clients with preliminary review and discussion.
- First line of review for warehouse related Commercial Credit Report (CCR) and Commercial Credit Memorandum (CCM).
- Perform client visits as part of periodic site visitation, on site due diligence review and perspective warehouse clients.
- Make credit recommendation related to warehouse lines of credit the bank is in consideration of.
- Present CCR and CCM to management team, including loan committees for the purpose of obtaining credit approval.
- Evaluate the financial position and character of mortgage originator clients to ensure clients represent safe and profitable
- relationships for the Bank.
- Monitor and manage warehouse credits with respect to financial covenants, bank policies and procedures and borrower relationships.
- Review takeout investors submission package and provide recommendation to management team.
- Present client reporting as it relates to performance and covenants.
- Assist with internal and external exams and audits related to warehouse line of business.
- Monitor CRM dashboard to ensure deals are up to date and on track for target deadlines.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum Job Experience: 5-10 Years
- Current hands-on underwriting experience.
- Good knowledge of banking procedures and regulations, credit fundamentals and business transactions.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Self-starter with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal with an ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
