Accountant

Banker Insulation is an independently owned Arizona company that has been in business since 1977. The company specializes in the installation of insulation products at both residential and commercial sites.

Banker Insulation is currently searching for an Accountant for the Chandler, AZ corporate office location. The schedule for the role is Monday-Friday from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M., with schedule flexibility. This role is an in-office position.

Duties:

• Perform corporate level accounting tasks for 9 branch locations in 2 different states (8 in AZ, 1 in NM)
• Complete month-end activities (including review and close out for 10 branch location inventories)
• Verify that A/R and GL batches are released and posted
• Post all management fees, depreciation, allocation, monthly pre-paid, benefit allocations, and credit card entries
• Complete credit card reconciliations
• Verify all sub-accounts on existing entries are correct and adjust as needed, also verifying all inter-company account balances
• Complete a WIP report for the Chandler branch, along with researching any issues (investigating any job cost inconsistencies from the WIP report)
• Track and create a ‘Percentage of Completion’ update
• Update material and labor transfers between different branches
• Other misc. accounting tasks and projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• 2-3 years of accounting experienced preferred, but not required
• Construction and/or construction accounting experience helpful
• Prior strong experience with the Microsoft Suite of programs, especially Excel
• Experience working with QuotePlus and Solomon high desired, but will train for those with no prior experience (the company does anticipate a switch to QuickBooks or another commonly utilized accounting software program in the future)
• Must apply accounting best practices and be familiar with accounting and tax laws/regulations
• Analytical with a high emphasis placed on attention to detail
• Ability to coordinate with an accounting team of 3 other individuals (Controller, A/P Clerk, and General Accounting Clerk)
