Position Summary

The Line Lead is the production expert, working directly on their assigned production lines. Line Lead also assists the Production Manager with oversight of day-to-day production operations through training and development of staff, prioritizing work, providing work direction, and problem solving as issues arise.  This Line Lead is a full-time position working a shift of 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM Monday through Friday or 3:00 pm - 1:30 am, Monday - Thursday. 

This position reports to the Production Manager.

According to the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), this position is classified as:      

  • Non-Exempt

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Spends 50% or more of their time working in assigned production lines as a subject matter expert
  • Hosts morning meetings with the production team members and maintains area boards with KPIs
  • Trains new employees on all job functions.
  • Assists the
  • Works with Production Manager and other Leads to suggest appropriate staffing levels.
  • Plans and prepares for the 2nd shift production crew and hosts a shift changeover meeting
  • Uses the ERP system to conduct inventory transactions, open and close work orders, scrap out defective material, review general production needs
  • Responds to manufacturing line issues as the first point of contact with an attempt to troubleshoot issues. Escalates issues as needed to technical support teams
  • Gathers supplies that are needed for production operations
  • Responsible for ensuring that all required processes are follows in production lines. This includes Quality, Safety, Build Requirements, employment policies etc.
  • Ensures that production lines are well organized and meet 5S standards
  • Prioritize production and engineering builds to ensure the production lines run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Prioritizes tasks and directs team to improve work efficiency and accuracy while maintaining focus on continuous quality improvement.
  • Effectively communicates with all employees and managers.
  • Provides input to the Manager regarding performance management of Electronic Assemblers.

Required

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 1 years of experience in production is required.
  • Experience in a lead role within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Oracle E-Business Suite and Warehouse Management Systems experience is required.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain productivity is required.
  • Possesses a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Proven ability to foster trust and a positive work environment is required.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and team-building skills to manage relationships throughout Production and with other departments.
  • Ability to promote continuous improvement within the Banner environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation is required.
  • Must be able to handle multiple high priority tasks in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to use a computer, hand tools, gauges, and testers.

  • Sits for up to 8 hours per day to perform hand solder with hot soldering iron, inspect boards under a microscope, make simple repairs, etc.
  • Bends neck to use scope for precision work and perform inspections.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel to complete tasks.
  • Simple hand grasp needed to convey parts and hold tools; dexterity required to solder, encapsulate, correct defects, etc.
  • Occasionally move, carry, or lift objects or materials weighing up to 30 pounds frequently.
