Job Description:
The RN is responsible for managing and providing nursing care for the patient populations on the unit. This includes the immediate, short-term nursing care needs of patients as well as, planning for long-term needs. The KY Nurse Practice Act and established HMH policies, procedures and standards of practice, determine the nurse’s scope of practice.
The registered nurse is responsible for managing and providing for age-appropriate patient care, possibly from neonatal to geriatrics. This includes the immediate, short-term nursing care needs of patients, as well as, planning for long-term needs. The nurse’s scope of practice is determined by the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act and established Hardin Memorial Hospital and patient care services policies, procedures and standards of practice. Graduate of school of nursing with current unrestricted Kentucky license required, or higher. One-year clinical experience as Registered Nurse required. Previous ambulatory care, med/surg and telemetry experience preferred. Ability to work well under stress and possess effective communication skills is required. BLS preferred upon hire, required within 90 days of hire. PALS preferred upon hire, required within one year of hire.
