Payment Analyst

As a Barclays Payment Analyst, you will have the opportunity to monitor payment queues that process in total 35k payments for approximately 350 billion dollars on a daily basis. You will manage queues to ensure all items are cleared within U.S. cut-off times, and answer queries from internal business units pertaining to payment escalations. Your team will interact with internal teams, like the Payment team, Investigations, Payment Command Center, Risk and Control and Letter of Credit.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. What will you be doing?
* Reviewing SWIFT, CHIPS, FEDWIRE and internal transfers that may fall into Limit, STOPS, or Duplicate queues
* Repairing/Verifying complex Payment messages for UK & US wire instructions
* Inputting and or verifying Manual Payment Orders for branches, correspondent banks and customers
* Monitoring payments from accounts with insufficient funds
* Facilitate approval process
* Monitoring all payment queues
* Responding to payment inquires received via email
* Maintaining productivity standard as recorded in daily productivity spreadsheet
What we're looking for:
* One year experience of working with Funds Transfer and monetary instruments including SWIFT, CHIPS and FEDWIRE payment message types
* Basic understanding of sanctions policies and requirements of OFAC regulations
* One year experience working in an environment that produced continued processing deadlines, or equivalent
* Comprehensive knowledge of the procedures relating to own area
Skills that will help you in the role:
* One to two Years' experience in Investigating in an operational area, or at a similar level
* One year experience working with payment schemes (Chips&Fed)
* Effective communication skills, telephone and writing skills needed
* General understanding of Credit Risk Awareness/Money Laundering procedures
