Temp-to-Perm: Configuration Technician

At Barcodes, we are seeking a Configuration Technician whose primary role will be loading customer applications, creating and validating customer images, documenting and supporting configurations, and problem resolution for all staging projects. The Configuration Technician role works within the Tech Floor at Building 23 in our Holland, MI office in coordination with the Systems Engineers to configure, deploy and enroll new electronics. This role will report directly to the Operations Manager.

What You’ll Do:

• Identify and learn relevant software and hardware used and supported by the company
• Work to load required applications on hardware
• Communicate with management and procurement when suspected software and/or hardware problems need to be addressed internally
• Follow configuration documents to exact standards
• Troubleshooting operating system update errors
• Enrolling new electronics into mobile device management
• Troubleshooting automated app installation
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
• Primarily configures Android devices, PCs, printers and Apple products.
• Enrolling new electronics into mobile device management services.
• Reconfiguring repaired devices to customer standards and creating QR codes to facilitate faster staging of devices

What You’ll Need:

• Knowledge of computer imaging; software deployment; loading applications
• Strong troubleshooting skills and problem resolution
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and its related products
• Familiarity working in an ERP/CRM system
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and effectively deal with tight deadlines and pressure, planning out each day and staying focused on tasks
• Proven work experience operating computers and mobile devices
• Attention to detail and familiarity with Android and Apple devices
• Proven ability to take initiative and work with little supervision 
• Excellent critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
• Strong knowledge of mobile operating systems.
• Prior programming experience is a plus
• Excellent communication skills 
• Willingness to collaborate with others
