What We're Looking For: 

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is looking for a Land Survey / Geomatics CAD Technician to join the Land Resources business unit in the Columbus, GA office. This positions works closely with Engineers, Architects, Landscape Architects, Surveyors, and Designers taking specific instruction to produce basic CAD generated drawings for projects.

Responsibilities:

• Receives data and mark ups and performs drafting resulting in a composition of drawings to visually communicate deliverables for assigned projects
• Sets up and prepares documents such as basemaps and other deliverables
• Updates and adjusts drawings/ specifications through feedback dialogue with other professionals, technicians, and designers
• Performs some basic calculations and analysis on data sets from field personnel. 
• Assists in researching legal and survey records and reviews various information to obtain information about property boundaries, encumbrances and areas to be surveyed 
• Performs deed research, plotting, and map checks
• Updates and adjusts drawings/ specifications in timely and accurate manner
• Correctly label final working drawings.
• Assists in collecting data in the field when needed
• Performs other duties as required

Education & Experience Qualifications: 

• Two or four year degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Drafting, Surveying, or equivalent education and experience. Other relevant combination education and/ or experience may also be considered.
• Knowledge of Auto Cad and/or Microstation, Microsoft Office, and other essential equipment for field and office work.
• Field experience in Land Surveying preferred
