Position: Wedding Sales Manager
Reports To: Director of Sales
Position Overview: Negotiating and booking new business to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone, email, site inspection and written communication. Manage all wedding/banquet sales activities to maximize revenue potential for Cape May Resorts properties. Develop, implement and maintain quality standards for the Sales and Special Events Department. Ensure excellent customer service.
These duties may be described as, but not limited to:
- Plan, up-sell and detail all wedding/banquet materials with the client, including space requirements, agenda, setup, equipment, menus, guestroom blocks/reservations, billing, etc.
- Contract negotiation, completion and confirmation
- Understand and utilize our sales and catering system
- Prepare and maintain proper correspondences with client; file maintenance
- Prepare internal booking reports
- Inspect and confirm that areas in the hotel are prepared and able to meet client’s expectations.
- Resolve any issues, complaints, and/or problems to ensure product delivery and client satisfaction.
- Participate in daily business review meetings, BEO meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required.
- Participate as a team player with all departments. Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to clients.
- Attend trade shows, i.e Bridal Fairs, community events and industry meetings.
- Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and clients. Assist with reports and/or competition data collection. Compare competitors wedding packages/banquet menus in order to update and develop menu amenities and rates.
- Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events
- Submit revenue goals for annual Food and Beverage/Room block budgets, based on anticipated bookings, and groups “on the books”.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written skills and must be very organized
- A minimum of three to five years of hotel sales is required.
