Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as a Accountant will include:
- Pay Rate: $50/HR
- Length: 3-month contract (eligible to extend/convert)
- Schedule: Onsite, day shift
- The position is located on site and reports to the Accounting Manager.
- This position provides critical support to the engineering and program management organizations as it relates to reporting and controls, as well as managing key general accounting responsibilities for the team.
- As the finance leader for non-recurring engineering (NRE) and new programs, there is opportunity to be deeply involved in program management and new commercial opportunities.
- This position will be exposed to special projects and ad hoc reporting to drive improvements in the function and site
- Own all monthly and annual financial processes related to research and development, program accounting, and NRE sales/COGS.
- Present monthly NRE forecast directly to the division finance and program management teams.
- Partner with program management to develop and implement program finance and program management processes to ensure control, compliance, and improved program execution.
- Benchmark and incorporate best practices.
- Prepare New Business Review files for new business bids and proposals, providing analysis on key financial metrics.
- Perform monthly journal entries and reconciliations to ensure that program costs are appropriately accounted for in both the P&L and balance sheet.
- Monitor engineering timecards and make sure that hours worked are appropriately charged and tracked against projects in OTL.
- Serve as the accounts payable and APPO expert, assisting in the transition of APPO to a new center of excellence after going live.
- Manage several R&D and program management related budgets.
- Build the annual R&D and NRE profit plan, including calculating annual engineering rates.
- Assist in regular audits from EY, internal audit, and SOX, especially in the areas of R&D, NRE, and APPO.

- Bachelor???s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in finance and accounting in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of GAAP accounting
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
