Our office has a full-time opening for an English - Spanish bilingual Legal Assistant to join our team of dedicated professionals! This a job for candidates who enjoy helping and supporting others.
* Law firm experience helpful, but not required. This is ideal for a candidate who has worked in a criminal or civil law setting and wants to transition to immigration law.
*Applicants must be honest, reliable, attention to detail and devoted to work long-term.
*Required skills are: Fluent in English and Spanish - comprehension, verbal and written communication.
*Organization skills - ability to coordinate, prioritize, track and complete projects efficiently.
*Professional/Customer Service skills - reliable, good listener and phone skills.
*Proficient with office machines - Computer: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorer.
*Future promotion to Case Manager available to candidates with minimum B.S. education or higher.
*Duties include: Answer and direct phone calls. Type up basic legal correspondence. Maintain contact lists. Monitor deadlines and input into calendars. Filing and tracking legal documents and evidence. Initial greeting and set-up of new clients and new cases. Clerical and translation support for cases- English and Spanish. Administrative closure of cases. Interpreting in office for attorneys and accounting department.
*Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and clean criminal record required.
Note: Our schedule is 8 am -5 pm Monday - Thursdays and 8 am -2 pm Fridays.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
