We are seeking a professional like you to serve as Account Manager in support of global sales. In this customer-facing role, you will be responsible for the commercial development of BASF plastic and microcellular polyurethane (MCU) products on a regional level while coordinating and interfacing globally with all relevant regions as required. Cellasto is a business unit within BASF that designs, develops, and produces parts for automotive OEMs and partner Tier 1s.
Interfacing with customer purchasing, the Account Manager will formulate and implement product and sales strategies for the assigned OEM team that maximizes financial and sales results. Regional project will be the main roll while supporting global projects as needed. The Account Manager works together with Application Development Engineer as an account team to meet targets focused on customer strategy, continuous improvement, gross margin, and new business opportunities.
As an Account Manager, you create chemistry by…
- Defining and prioritizing attractive business opportunities, coordinating product, and accounting development activities and creating market commercialization strategies that will lead to above market growth for the Cellasto business.
- Performing market analysis for assigned OEM accounts for core, non-core, and new NVH products.
- Working on projects – the majority of which are automotive, and many have global requirements, also engaging inside and outside the organization, you will interface with customer contacts and collaborate with internal customers such as global sales and marketing, tooling, quality assurance and manufacturing personnel.
- Performing additional responsibilities including sales/cost tracking, yearly forecasting, and maintenance of projects in a global database.

- Bachelor’s degree in business, Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Minimum 6 years of account manager or sales/marketing experience preferably in automotive industry
- Preferred to have knowledge in chassis and suspension area.
- Excellent negotiation and program/project management skills
- Knowledge of the global automotive industry and Tier 1 chassis and suspension manufacturers, combined with any experience you may have in automotive sales/marketing.
