We are seeking a professional like you to join our Performance Chemical Division supporting our Manufacturing team at the Mcintosh, Alabama site. In this role, you will lead a team of EHSS professionals to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of BASF’s EHSS programs and initiatives of the McIntosh Site. As a team leader, you will drive, coordinate, and support EHSS programs, management systems, and related sustainability efforts including compliance.
You Create Chemistry By...
- Representing the EHSS organization on the Mcintosh site leadership team, ensuring governance, strategicdirection, and alignment with BASF corporate standards, as well as representing the site on the global EHS team,offering strategic direction and alignment with global standards. You will also represent the site in Superfundactivities, providing strategic direction and alignment with the BASF Remediation Team.
- Being responsible for contractor management for McIntosh Site Security and Emergency Response Team,including adherence and negotiations, as well as overseeing medical services to ensure alignment with BASFStandards and regulatory agencies such as CFATS, CWC, DOT, FRA, and OSHA.
- Overseeing and ensuring compliance with various environmental regulations and reporting requirements at theMcIntosh Site. This includes overseeing compliance with Title V Permitting, NPDES, SDWA, and RCRA-LQG.
- Additionally, being responsible for overseeing the LDAR program and reporting requirements, as well as preparingand submitting annual reports such as 8700-12, Tier II, TRI, and the Biennial report.Supporting and maintaining compliance plans for various areas such as Best Management Practice, WasteMinimization, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures, and Contingency Plans including the Lab ChemicalHygiene Plan.
- Supervising EHSS staff to meet performance goals, assessing their performance, and fostering their professionaldevelopment is crucial. Overseeing the effective and efficient assignment of EHSS roles and responsibilities isalso essential. You and your team will also maintain the site ATF license, 3E SDS Database, Dakota, and otherrelevant databases.
- Identifying and prioritizing issues and continuous improvement opportunities, making necessary adjustments toresources and programs, as well as developing and executing measures and action plans designed to reducerisks and improve EHSS performance.
If you...
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science (advanced degree and/or EHS-related certifications is a plus).
- Possess professional experience in a chemical production or EHS supervisory role.
- Have extensive EHSS regulatory, managerial, and technical competencies, with working knowledge of OSHA, CFATS, and EPA regulations.
- Have strong team leadership and delegation skills.
- Are an effective communicator capable of engaging with site and business group management.
