As an Insect Product Technician you will be an enthusiastic team player and skilled communicator to work as part of the Insect and Plant Production (I&PP) team within Global Insecticide Research at the BASF facility in RTP, North Carolina.
Weekend and holiday work will be required on a rotational basis.
During your shift as an Insect Production Technician, you will
- Mass-rear a variety of insect species on plants and/or artificial diet, collecting detailed data on insect quality, environmental conditions, and contamination; additionally, the incumbent will be required to regularly report these data to team members.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Have additional responsibilities will include propagating plants, monitoring plant quality, and controlling plant pests as needed.
- Be required to work with others in I&PP to assist with improving living organism product quality and process efficiency.
If you have...
- High school diploma or equivalent or AAS degree with minimum 2 years’ experience producing insects in a laboratory setting - OR - a BS degree with minimum one-year experience producing insects in a laboratory setting.
- Able and willing to work on weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Demonstrably team oriented and with strong communication skills.
- Experience with computers and business software.
- Must be willing and able to lift up to 50lbs safely
