Where the chemistry happens…

As a principal operator you will execute the operational work of the US processing tomato breeding program, based in Acampo, California, and will provide the necessary support to the breeders, breeding team and collaborators, ensuring that all the work is performed safely, accurately and efficiently.

During your day shift as a Principal Operator, you will

• Grow and maintain plants from seed-to-seed; having a “green thumb” is preferred.
• Work in hot, cold, wet, humid and dusty conditions, in greenhouse and field.
• Follow Health Safety and Environment (HSE) regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
• Execute operations according to verbal or written directions.
• Make observations, communicate findings and record data in both words and numbers.

If you...

• Have a minimum of High school education and competency with basic computer skills.
• Can apply a working knowledge of general horticultural practices and procedures; plant breeding experience and work with vegetable crops, particularly tomatoes preferred.
• Are able to communicate effectively in English, and able to communicate in Spanish is preferred.
• Can lift and carry up to 25lbs.

Pay Transparency
