What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agricultural Field Worker position at BASF?
BASF Soybean Breeding is looking for individuals to be a part of the field crew located in rural Champaign County near Seymour, Illinois. Both onsite and offsite harvest crew opportunities are available.
Onsite job duties include recording field notes, harvest of plots or single plants, bundling of plants, threshing, and cleaning of seed. Onsite working hours are typically 7:30 – 4pm or sometimes later when weather dictates.
Offsite job duties include accompanying harvest crew to offsite trials, cleaning equipment after harvest, note collection, and aiding in equipment repair if necessary. Individuals should enjoy working outside, have a driver’s license, be willing to work longer days and stay overnight near the trials if needed.
For both positions attention to detail is needed to maintain accurate data and inventory of seed. Interested individuals must have an attention for safety, be a team-oriented individual, and work collaboratively in a team environment, be able to lift 40lbs, and possess a driver’s license.
