What are the responsibilities and job description for the Starbuck's Merchandiser Trainer position at Bashas’?
Starbucks merchandiser-trainers are barista experts, responsible for working with store directors and Starbucks managers, helping them grow their business. In addition to managing their own department, 1-2 days a week, the Starbucks merchandiser-trainer provides guidance to other Starbucks barista managers, presenting and facilitating the implementation of new merchandising programs, processes and methods.
Duties and Responsibilities; include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide training, guidance and coaching to department members, Starbucks managers in training and other Starbucks managers, demonstrating proper techniques for production, care, and merchandising of all items for sale.
- Drive Starbucks merchandising programs and customer service philosophies at store level.
- Facilitate and supervise the production activities in the department.
- Facilitate and supervise the merchandising activities in the department.
- Ensure proper execution of corporate programs at store level, assuring conformity with established sales, food safety, customer service, merchandising, and pricing program goals and objectives.
- Provide merchandising support assistance to store directors and department managers.
- Advise store directors and Starbucks managers of new or improved merchandising procedures and new performance standards.
- Review with managers projected sales, gross profit margin, expense control and operating profit objectives; helping to ensure budgeted goals are met.

- Extensive knowledge of Starbucks and Bashas’ operations.
- Previously or currently a successful Starbucks manager.
- A valid driver’s license (merchandiser-trainers drive to various store locations and offices on a regular basis).
