Repair Tech

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Repair Technician identifies and repairs defects in gel coated boat molds, fiberglass parts, and boats.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Inspects completed fiberglass boat bodies, hulls and parts for defects and blemishes.

• Repairs boat body and hull defects by sanding, spraying, or dabbing.

• Applies and removes wax and other surface finishing products.

• Works as a team to physically push and pull boats between various stages of manufacturing.

• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required: None

• Preferred Degree: High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Experience in boat or body shop repair a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Safety Conscious.

• Flexibility with tasks.

• Ability to comprehend written instructions on boat orders

• Follow written and verbal instructions.

• Able to communicate well with a team.

• Quick thinking in recognizing critical issues.

• Pass a pulmonary function test and abide by a respiratory protection program to wear a respirator.

• Attention to fine detail.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

• Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
