Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse (RN), Ambulatory Care will work Regular Full-Time Days andwill provide nursing care and services to patients throughout the life span and in various settings consistent with educational preparation.
- The Registered Nurse acts effectively as a group leader or preceptor when assigned.
- As a Registered Nurse, you will advocate for patients to ensure that care preserves and protects the patient autonomy, dignity and rights.
- The RN acquires and maintains current knowledge and skills in his or her area of practice.
Qualifications
Bassett Healthcare Network follows the New York State and New York State Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine mandates for healthcare workers. This mandate requires COVID-19 vaccinations for personnel working for or on behalf of our hospitals and nursing homes. The New York State mandate allows for medical exemptions and religious accommodations, when appropriate. All candidates who accept an offer from Bassett Healthcare Network will be required to show proof of vaccination as required by New York State.
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited Baccalaureate, Associate OR Diploma Professional Nursing program is required
Experience/Qualifications:
- New graduate OR less than 1 year experience as an RN
Licensure/Certificates:
- Current NYS licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse OR Valid Interim Permit required
- BLS Certification required within 6 months from date of hire
Skills:
- Ability to assess patient status and take appropriate action is required
- Demonstrates competency in required nursing skills relevant to area of practice
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a rapidly changing environment
Physical Requirements:
- Walking, standing, squatting and kneeling required throughout shift
- Ability to lift and position patients required
- Category I risk exposure as defined by OSHA
- Must be able identify and differentiate colors
