The Controls Solutions Engineer is responsible for supporting the company’s overall success in the HVAC Controls Department. The Controls Solutions Engineer is responsible for representing the controls department on construction, retrofit, service projects and supporting the overall success of the department.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Provide support for all complex solutions including retrofit, install and service work
- Survey job information provided to determine the most suitable solution
- Work with clients to determine what best fits their needs/desires – including lighting controls, energy and IOT solutions
- Troubleshoot building control systems
- Program HVAC control systems
- Work with client IT departments to ensure access and security
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors or as necessary to support the project, project managers, service calls and customers
- Provide 24/7 support to construction project managers, field foreman and engineers. Assist with unique control applications, provide literature, and remote technical support when required.
- Conduct on site customer training
- Participate in after hours On-Call
Supervisory / Budgetary / External Communication Responsibility
- Individual contributor but must be able to influence both internal and external individuals included GCs and owners.
Knowledge, skill and ability requirements (minimum competencies required for job performance)
- Must have in-depth knowledge of various HVAC products, BAS systems, electronics and IOS
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Field experience various HVAC products, lighting controls, BAS systems, electronics and IOS
- Mechanical aptitude
- Integrity and ability to promote a positive company image
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Results driven in a high-energy environment
- Attention to detail
Prior work experience and educational requirements
- Results driven in a high-energy environment
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years of experience in the controls industry
Physical
The physical demands are those associated with working in a typical jobsite environment.
