Job Summary
The Developer IV role is to design, develop, maintain, and support technical solutions to address complex business needs. The Developer works with process owners to learn/understand business requirements and analyzes all available data to determine the optimal technical solution. In instances where the development of a new technical capability is needed, the Developer’s role is to help translate business requirements into technical ones, perform the tasks needed (e.g. configuration, code development, data processing, etc.), test for accuracy/completeness, deploy solution to users, and provide post-production support.
*There is a strong preference for this person to live in the Columbus, OH or Washington D.C. market.*
Responsibilities
- Liaise with Business and Technology staff to build relationships, learn and understand business requirements.
- Facilitate information gathering sessions with process owners to deep dive into specifics and analyze processes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements and tasks.
- Determines which business requirements fit/don’t fit within the proposed solution and develops best fit recommendations for solving the process and systems gaps.
- When necessary, develop proof-of-concepts to confirm understanding of highly complex business requirements and iterate to fine tune final design.
- Develop new code as appropriate and apply configuration changes to conform with any architectural, InfoSec constraints.
- Develop detailed estimates for schedule, labor, and any contractor requirements.
- Adhere to project management methodology and produce all necessary artifacts and documentation.
- Support the functional end-users after deployment, and participate in continuous process improvement initiatives, new requirements development and enhancing solutions as business/technical requirements evolve.
- Provides guidance and advice to less experienced staff members.
- Provide training or direct the work of lower-level staff.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems related disciplines; eight years of experience as a developer; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
- 3 years experience with Microsoft technologies such as Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, Data Factory, etc.), .NET, C#, ASP.NET WebAPI, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
- Experience integrating cloud solutions with on-premises solutions and with other cloud solutions.
- Familiarity with RESTful API’s and asynchronous programming
- 3 years Angular experience. Proficiency in developing/maintaining/supporting applications and solid understanding of core concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of multi-department teams on large enterprise projects
- Working experience with commercial ERP systems; knowledge of Costpoint and Planisware is a plus
- Must have a background which would not preclude a security clearance granted
