Director of Enterprise Network and Cloud
The Director of Enterprise Network and Cloud will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting all corporate network and cloud environments, including globally dispersed internal sites, multiple regional Azure landing zones, and an AWS environment. The individual will lead all internal network and cloud resources and external managed service providers and collaborate with peers in Information Technology and other departments. You will take information from business, IT, and/or project specifications and turn those requirements into completed design definitions, builds, and support models that ultimately sustain and grow the business.
This individual will be directly accountable for significantly contributing to the overall technical architecture, stability, resiliency, and general health related to network and cloud solutions.
Technical Skills:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Routing/Switching, including experience in the design and implementation of various network modules as described in the Cisco SAFE Architecture. The ideal candidate will be able to address business and application requirements, design or manipulate the infrastructure to support these requirements, and perform the necessary configurations to realize the business goals.
- Extensive experience with dynamic routing protocols (including OSPF, EIGRP and BGP), the ability to work with redistribution between these routing protocols and static routes, and an expert-level understanding of route filtering through the use of prefix lists, route maps and ACLs.
- This candidate will need to have a full understanding of Data Center networks, including the ability to design, implement and support changes to the infrastructure while maintaining consistency and change control. The Data Center platforms consist of Cisco ASA5500s, Nexus 7K, 5K and 2K, Catalyst Series Switches, Cisco ASR 1000 series routers, Cisco ISR G2 Series Routers, and Citrix Netscalers.
- Full understanding and the ability to perform the following tasks within the network: add/remove/change VLANs, SVIs, vPCs, firewall ACEs, LACP port-channels, dynamic routing neighbor relationships, route filtering, HSRP, access/trunk port configuration, interfaces, and address families in VRFs, cabling (both copper and fiber), load-balancing virtual servers, global load balancing virtual servers
- The ability to research and develop new networking technologies to better meet the organization’s business needs
- An understanding and penchant for network security while avoiding a totally flat and unprotected network
- Configuration experience on Cisco-6800 Platform and Cisco 4500 and 9300 series switches while supporting campus networks which will utilize port-security, Auto-QoS, DHCP-helper, and standard switch-port configurations
- Experience working with wireless LAN controllers and LWAPs and troubleshooting connectivity issues over Campus WIFI
- Experience working with Cisco ASAs with uses in Remote Access VPN (both legacy VPN and AnyConnect clients), LAN-to-LAN IPsec VPNs, NAT (static, dynamic, and PAT), inspection policies and access control for ports/protocols
- Expertise in designing and implementing network solutions for Converged Infrastructure (Cisco UCS) or Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (Nutanix and Cohesity)
- Expertise in SD-WAN deployment and MPLS setup.
- Software Defined Networks such as Cisco ACI, APIC ACI, MSO (Multi Site Orchestrator), NAE (Network Assurance Engine), ACI Anywhere; SD WAN e.g., Cisco vManage; SD Access e.g., DNAC, APIC EM, Cisco ISE.
- Security products e.g., ISE and Firewalls: Cisco ( Firepower Threat Defense).
- Network automation skills
Required Cloud skills:
Azure:
- Practical understanding of Azure Landing Zones (Multi-subscription models)
- Experience in architecting and implementing Azure cloud private network: Express routing, Virtual WAN(VWAN), VPNs, Access Gateways, NSG, route filters, VNET Peering, Service Endpoints, Web Application Firewall (WAF), Palo Alto firewalls, Citrix NetScaler’s, Azure Load balancers and Application gateways etc.)
- Hands-on expertise in DevOPs pipelines as it relates to deploying networking components (deploying VNETs and subnets etc.)
- Practical understanding of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions.
- Practical understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, AD-DS and SSO concepts
- Hands-On with Hybrid Cloud Networking (where Azure Overlaps with MPLS Network Design)
- Understanding on Securing and Monitoring of Network Components
- Know-How on configuration of latest Features like Azure Firewall Configurations, Azure Front Door, Azure VNET NATT’ing
- Multi-Site Listeners in Load Balancer Configurations
- Configuration of ASGs in Addition to NSGs and Network Watcher Tool Usage.
- PaaS Services Integration with VNETS (Kubernetes Integration with VNET, App Services Integration with VNETs, etc.)
- PowerShell and CLI Scripting for Network Configurations
AWS:
- Landing zone, VPC, Direct Connect, route filtering, transit gateway, private link, ELB, etc.)
- Experience with Aviatrix is highly desirable

- Communication of strategies, plans or results and activities to other IT members
- Experience in setting and executing network strategy
- Provide ideas and innovation and maintain a view of emerging technologies that could enhance the service offering for network propositions.
- Provide overall network technical strategy and leadership for project or proposals.
- Review of network infrastructures and propose options for improvements.
- Compliance with a stringent change management process, where levels of accuracy of proposed implementation activities will be subject to the fullest review and delivery must follow the agreed plan.
- Ability to cost and estimate projects with limited information and ensuring assumptions, risks and issues have been captured

- Management of 3rd party vendors (including outsourced processes) and internal resources (as needed)

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, networking, or a related discipline a plus.
- CCNP/CCIE certifications are desirable.
- 10 Years in the information technology field with 5 years in networking and cloud.
