Classification: NON-EXEMPT | Status & Location: Full Time, Monday - Friday, generally 4pm – 12:30am, may include additional time to meet the needs of the position

Salary: $16 - 18/hourly | Location: Coos Bay | Reports to: Maintenance & Janitorial Manager

Supervision Exercised: Non-Supervisory

Job Purpose: Healthcare Clinic Janitor Services

The purpose of this position is to ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors. By meticulously cleaning and disinfecting all areas of the clinic, managing waste disposal, and maintaining essential supplies, the janitor helps prevent the spread of infections and contributes to the overall health and safety of the facility. Their role is crucial in supporting the clinic's operations and enhancing the quality of care provided to patients.

Essential Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, furniture, and surfaces
• Waste management
• Restocking supplies
• Floor care
• Window and glass cleaning
• Maintenance reporting
• Adhering to safety protocols
• Special projects and providing great customer service

Qualifications, Education, & Experience

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED
• Proven track record of ethical conduct and dependability required
• Janitorial, custodial, or maintenance experience strongly preferred
• Customer services experience strongly preferred
• Satisfactory results of a criminal background check and professional references required

Working Conditions: (Environmental Services/Maintenance)

This position must have the ability to occasionally remain in a stationary position, and frequently move about inside and outside the healthcare facility and property grounds to access buildings, office and medical equipment, exam rooms, and other areas to provide maintenance or repair; and frequently communicate and exchange accurate information.

• Constant light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
• Occasional medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds.

Work Condition: Healthcare Facility & Grounds

• Employee generally works within the interior and exterior of a healthcare facility.
• Employee may travel locally and be responsible for own transportation. Out of area travel may be required on occasion. Driver’s license, in good standing, is required for this position.
• Hours of operations and specific staff scheduling may vary based on operational need.
• The healthcare facility environment is clean with a comfortable temperature and moderate noise level.
• Outdoor elements include precipitation and wind, and occasional unlevel terrain.

Exposed to:

• Healthcare facility cold and heat controls.
• Close contact with employees and the public, in a healthcare facility.
• Exposure to outdoor elements such as precipitation, wind, and high and low temperatures.
• Exposure to noisy environments, poor ventilation, and small and/or enclosed spaces.
• Potential exposure to communicable diseases.
• Potential exposure to escalated or angry patients.

Machines, equipment, tools, and supplies used: Occasionally operates machinery and/or power tools such as a vacuum, floor polisher, and leaf blower

May answer telephone calls, complete documentation, and use computer programs to either obtain or record information.

Multiple Duties: Must be able to work under conditions of frequent interruption and be able to stay on task.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
